TAIPAN STAGED a one-horse successful foreign sortie for Britain, earning pounds 88,000 with a repeat win in the Premio Roma yesterday. John Dunlop's six-year-old, ridden by Pat Eddery, dominated from the front and pulled two and a half lengths clear of Martino Alonso in the Group One race over a mile and a quarter. Britain's other runner, Eco Friendly, was unplaced.
Italian stables dominated the Group Two Premio Ribot which went to Midyan Call. Roger Charlton's Wixim was unplaced.
