Beggarman Thief was quoted at 33-1 for next year's 2,000 Guineas after his victory in the Group Three Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury yesterday.
Ridden by Ray Cochrane, Beggarman Thief was held up before passing Bin Ajwaad approaching the final furlong to win by two lengths. The colt's trainer, John Gosden ruled out a Derby challenge. 'He wouldn't get that distance in a taxi,' he said.
