MICHAEL ROBERTS was yesterday voted Jockey Of The Year by his weighing room colleagues. The South African, who amassed 206 winners to take the jockeys' title for the first time last year, received the award at a ceremony at the London Hilton.

Other riders honoured at the event were Richard Dunwoody (Jump Jockey Of The Year), Lester Piggott (Jockey Personality), Emma O'Gorman (Lady Jockey), David Harrison (Apprentice), and Mick Fitzgerald (Conditional). Adrian Maguire received an award voted by the readers of the Racing Post.
