Point-to-point: Greenall a breeze on Glenelly Gale

With just a fortnight of the season left, champions-elect Oliver Greenall and Polly Gundry are both chasing records. Greenall needs six more to equal the previous highest total of 54 winners achieved by Ashley Farrant in 2004, while Gundry, who rode a double at Larkhill on Wednesday to put her on the 38 mark, requires just three more to top Polly Curling's 1995 record of 40.

Greenall won on Pristine Condition on Wednesday night but was later beaten on two odds-on chances. However, he should be back on track at Dingley today with Glenelly Gale (4.15) in the mens open.

The ex-Irish veteran ended a long losing run when making all under Greenall's brother Toby at Garthorpe three weeks ago. Oliver also has an excellent chance in the following intermediate (4.50) on either last week's Garthorpe winner Malton or The Fairhill Boy.

Bratton Down stage the second of their three late season meetings today and Gundry has a strong hand in the ladies' open (3.45) with either Dr Cerullo or Long Night, who were both successful over the Bank Holiday, though Croix de Guerre, owned by trainer Philip Hobbs' wife Sarah, will be a tough opponent.

Monday's meeting at Bonvilston in Glamorgan, which was postponed after high winds blew the course tents down, has been rearranged for tomorrow with the same entries.
