Rallying: Starters converge on Monte Carlo

Contestants in the 62nd Monte Carlo Rally headed for the starting line yesterday from six points in Europe. They are due in Valence by tonight for the start at nearby Saint Pierreville tomorrow. The Toyota drivers Juha Kankkunen, the world champion from Finland, and the Frenchman Didier, last year's winner, were among the 180 entrants scheduled to set off yesterday from starting points in France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Italy, as well as Monte Carlo itself.
