The controversial trainer Lynda Ramdsen faces another trip to Jockey Club headquarters to answer accusations of running a non-trier. The trainer, along with jockey Steve Williams were referred to Portman Square over the running of Captain Carat at Leicester on Monday.
Three weeks ago the Ramsden-trained Top Cees caused an uproar by coasting to victory in the Chester Cup, having been tenderly ridden on his previous run.
Captain Carat finished seventh at Leicester, drifting from 9-2 favourite to 13-2. His presence there had been a surprise. During an inquiry into his improved form after he had won at Doncaster on 8 May, connections had claimed that he was unsuited by the track at Leicester on his previous outing.
