The England hooker Mark Regan has been given the given the go-ahead to gain his second cap against Western Samoa on 16 December. The 23-year- old Bristol player faced a possible suspension after being given a yellow card for the second time this season during a recent game at Moseley.

The Gloucestershire RFU disciplinary meeting for 12 December, however, will not have time to discuss his case, which will now be considered during an additional meeting a week later.

"The new date means that I can concentrate on the preparations for the game against the tourists," Regan said.

"I shall definitely be appealing against both yellow cards and hope that the committee will find it in my favour."
