Lawrie Smith again showed his versatility yesterday, winning two races in his first appearance in the star class at the Spa Olympic regatta in Holland, writes Mike Turner. The new partnership with his 20-stone crewman Chris Mason, just returned from trimming the main sail for the Nippon America's Cup challenge, worked well.
