Daio Powell, the Wakefield Trinity three-quarter, has been charged with unlawful killing following an incident outside a Perth nightclub last weekend. The Great Britain Under-21 international, who scored Wales only try against Australia last season, has been playing for Perth Western Reds this summer. The 22-year-old, who appeared in East Perth Court yesterday, was released on pounds 25,000 bail and ordered to reappear before the central law courts on September 13.

St Helens have signed the Great Britain Under-21 forward, Dean Busby, from Hull for a fee still to be decided. Shane Cooper, the player he is likely to replace, is joining Widnes on an 18-month contract.
