Hull have signed the Australian Glen Liddiard and the centre will play against Widnes tomorrow despite being the First Division club's sixth overseas player. Hull hope to persuade the RFL that Dave Webber and Dave Moffat should not count towards the quota as they have British passports.

Richard Webster, Salford's back-row forward, is having talks with Bath about a possible move back to rugby union. The club are also interested in Wigan's Henry Paul and Vai'aga Tuigamala
