Rugby League: Bob Scott appointed Rugby League general manager

Bob Scott, the Huddersfield vice-chairman, has been appointed the first general manager for the Rugby League's First and Second Divisions.

The scrum-half Graeme Close, one of 10 players released by Warrington last week, has signed for Salford Reds.
