Rugby League: Bouveng strikes late for Halifax
DAVID BOUVENG struck in the 90th minute as Halifax beat Bradford 21-16 at Odsal yesterday. The winger crashed over from Martin Moana's pass and Simon Baldwin's drop goal in injury time gave Halifax a win four days after their coach. John Pendlebury resigned, and then decided to stay.
Mark Aston, Sheffield Eagles' Lance Trophy winner in their Challenge Cup final victory, expects to be out for six to eight weeks after damaging tendons in his right hand in a DIY accident. With Dave Watson also missing the Eagles still managed their second Super League win of the season, 28-8, at Salford.
