Rugby League Round-Up: Offiah's painful landmark

MARTIN OFFIAH will have decidedly mixed feelings about his 300th try. At the end of Wigan's 54-16 demolition of Hull KR he raced 90 yards for his second try of the game but remained on the ground injured. The winger was later taken to hospital for a check on his thigh, writes Richard Wetherell.

Offiah had started the procession with his first try after just 90 seconds and Hull KR were so outclassed they were 36-6 behind at half-time.

Another famous name reached a landmark yesterday. Jonathan Davies scored his 100th try as a professional as Warrington maintained their lead in the Stones Bitter Championship with a 30-14 win over Featherstone. After an hour Davies went 45 yards to score in the corner. He also kicked five goals.

Halifax moved into fourth place but their 20-12 win was hard-earned. Down 12-0 after 21 minutes they came back to lead 14-12. The victory was ensured 10 minutes from time when Christian Tyrer, the Widnes stand-off, dropped the ball behind his own line and Gary Divorty scored.
