Rugby League: Wigan happy with Connolly

WIGAN will continue with Gary Connolly at full-back in tonight's crucial home game against Bradford Northern, writes Dave Hadfield.

Connolly, normally a centre, was outstanding in Wigan's defeat at Odsal on Tuesday. 'I believe full- back is his rightful position,' John Dorahy, the Wigan coach, said.

Paul Atcheson, the recent first- choice full-back, is still out with a knee injury, but he and Phil Clarke, who has an ankle strain, should be fit for the last league match at Oldham next weekend and for the Challenge Cup final a week later.

Jason Robinson may be out of tonight's game with sore feet, but Barrie-Jon Mather and Shaun Edwards could be fit. If Neil Summers fails a fitness test on a hamstring, David Heron's inclusion at stand-off is likely to be Northern's only change from the side who won at Odsal.
