Laurent Benezech, the French international prop, has signed for Harlequins as cover for club captain Jason Leonard.

Cardiff are to become a limited company. A new company will be formed with Peter Thomas, the club's financial backer, as the major investor, and members will be invited to become shareholders.

Bridgend are to begin work next week on a multi-million pound project to give them the second biggest ground in Wales. The club are almost certain to move from their council-owned Brewery Field ground to the former German prisoner-of-war camp known as Island Farm.
