LAWRENCE DALLAGLIO, one of the potential solutions to the mobility problems in England's back row, ran in two tries for Wasps as they won 26-15 at Gloucester in League One of the Courage Clubs' Championship.

The 23-year-old flanker's second effort, in the final minute, left Gloucester one spot off the bottom with just two points and a third of the season already over.

Wasps' other try-scorer was Dean Ryan while Rob Andrew kicked three penalties and a conversion. For Gloucester, Tim Smith landed four penalties and Martyn Kimber a drop goal.

Northampton, who have gorged themselves on every League Two opponent this season, continued the gluttony by devouring Blackheath 69-10. Gregor Townsend scored three tries while Jonathan Bell helped himself to two. London Scottish kept up their 100 per cent record by beating Bedford 50- 10, but ambitious Newcastle are now second from bottom after losing 29- 26 at home to Waterloo.

Wales fly-half Neil Jenkins completed a century of Heineken League points in just six games as Pontypridd returned to the top of the table with a 55-17 mauling of Abertillery. Wayne Proctor's two tries, lifting his league tally to 49, helped previous leaders Llanelli to squeeze past Newbridge 17-9. Cardiff struggled to beat Ebbw Vale 16-10 and slipped to third.

French fly-half Thierry Lacroix kicked six penalties and a conversion as Natal beat Western Province 25-17 in South Africa's Currie Cup final in Durban.
