Biggar's boot inspires Ospreys to victory
Magners League
The outside-half Dan Biggar kicked 23 points as the Ospreys eased to victory over Edinburgh at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, a win which takes them up to fourth in the table.
Early ill-discipline allowed Biggar to give the Ospreys a handy cushion before the Welsh region scored a try in each half through Justin Tipuric and Richard Fussell. Edinburgh's Tim Visser went over for a consolation converted try in the final minute after Ian Gough became the third player to be shown a yellow card.
"In patches we were awesome, especially in the first 20 minutes when we kept building and taking points," said Ospreys' hooker Richard Hibbard.
Over in Ireland, Paul O'Connell made a winning return from injury for Munster as they overcame the Cardiff Blues in foggy conditions at Thomond Park.
Dan Parks's brace of penalties handed the Blues a 6-3 half-time lead, with his opposite number Ronan O'Gara notching a reply for the home side.
But seven minutes into the second half, Alan Quinlan stretched over for the game's only try and O'Gara took his haul to 11 points as the league leaders returned to winning ways.
It was a welcome sight for coach Tony McGahan to see O'Connell, who came on as a second-half replacement, come through unscathed.
