England’s captain Tom Mitchell landed a penalty with the last kick to give his side a dramatic 15-12 victory over New Zealand in the final game to top their group at the IRB Sevens at Twickenham. England had earlier beaten Wales 14-10 and Argentina 31-5.
In the Aviva Premiership Saracens flanker Justin Melck was sent off as they were beaten 31-27 by Leicester. The Tigers came out on top in a dramatic 21-minute period either side of half-time when six tries were scored, Saracens winger Michael Tagicakibau was sin-binned and Melck sent off.
Northampton Saints blazed their way to a 74-13 rout of London Wasps after falling 13-0 behind in the first 14 minutes.
