Since Ireland played England in 1878, the Lansdowne "roar" has shaken the timbers of this, the oldest international ground still in use. The current stadium is set to be replaced by a 50,000 seater accommodating rugby and football, costing an expected £250m.

By air: Ryanair, Aer Lingus, bmi and BA all offer competitive fares. Ryanair - www.ryanair.com - has put on extra flights to cater for Six Nations supporters. There is a bus link from Dublin International airport to the city centre every 15 minutes. By ferry: The service from Holyhead arrives in Dun Laoghaire or Dublin port (www.ferrybooker.com) and takes approximately 3hr 15min. Buses are easily available to take you into the city centre.
