Mike Tindall is poised to return to the England team for Saturday's Rugby World Cup Pool B clash with Romania.

Tindall has been at the centre of controversy since joining a group of team-mates on a night out drinking in Queenstown, two days after captaining England to a 13-9 victory over Argentina.

Closed circuit television pictures from the Altitude Bar appear to show Tindall in conversation with a woman.

A source close to the player and his new wife Zara Phillips, the Queen's grand-daughter, has said the woman is an old friend of the couple.

Phillips is believed to be flying out to Dunedin in time for the match on Saturday.

Tindall was rested for England's 41-10 victory over Georgia last Sunday but he is set for a return to action on Saturday.

England manager Martin Johnson will confirm his line-up overnight for the Otago Stadium game.

Mark Cueto is in line for his first appearance of the World Cup after recovering from a back injury, taking over from Delon Armitage on the wing.

Ben Foden has been struggling with a side injury but is confident he will be fit to start at fullback.

Nick Easter is out with a back injury, which forced him to miss the Georgia game and prompted Thomas Waldrom to be called up as cover.
