South Africa claimed victory at the Scottish leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series in Glasgow beating New Zealand 28-21 in the final.
After eliminating England in the semi-final despite a try from Dan Norton Cornal Hendricks' try proved decisive but it was not enough to deny New Zealand's overall victory in the standings with just next week's competition at Twickenham to come.
England came from behind to beat Wales 24-21 in the third place play-off. Ben Ryan's side were 21-7 down but tries from James Rodwell, Norton and Sam Edgerley won them the game, although they are down in eighth in the overall standings.
