Lyle will captain Bath
The former United States captain Dan Lyle will lead Bath in the Zurich Premiership next season, the club have announced, with England fly-half Mike Catt as vice-captain.
Lyle, who recently signed an extended contract, said: "I am happy, excited and honoured. I know the potential of this team and want us to be consistent and win. I will do the best I can to pursue that goal."
Bath's head coach Jon Callard said: "It has not been a tough decision, being captain seems to bring the best out of Dan as a player.
"He will be ably supported by Mike and the rest of the team. There is bags of experience and talent in the squad."
The Lions and Wales hooker Robin McBryde has agreed a deal which will see him spend the rest of his career with Llanelli. The 31-year-old international has signed a three-year extension to his contract with the Scarlets.
