Wales ring changes with experimental line-up

Lynn Howells, the Wales coach, has made 14 changes to the side that beat Japan 64-10 at the weekend for today's game against the Pacific Barbarians in Tokyo.

The Llanelli wing Mark Jones is the only survivor from the first Test in a side that will be captained by the Bridgend lock Chris Stephens. The line-up includes eight uncapped players, with the Cardiff full-back Rhys Williams the most experienced, with eight senior caps. Seven players begin their first match on tour ­ including the Pontypridd duo Gareth Wyatt and Michael Owen and the Newport tighthead prop Ceri Jones.

Sale have signed the front-row forward Stuart Turner from Rotherham, while Daren O'Leary has agreed terms with Gloucester and is set to sign a two-year contract this week. O'Leary, who was released by Harlequins, is the most prolific try-scorer in Premiership history, with 68 in 139 appearances.
