The leaders in the Cape to Rio race, who are 350 miles south of Trinidad, are expected to cross the line on Saturday with Hasso Plattner's 70-footer, Morning Glory, still leading. Second is Ludde Ingvall's Nicorette but making up distance on both has been Pierre Mas in the Whitbread 60, Corum.

Another yacht bearing the Corum name is Graham Walker's One Design 48, making its chartered first outing at the Key West regatta in Florida. One Design 48 won its first race there from John Koilus in Abracadabra and Kimo Worthington in Windquest.
