Sasa Curcic has come off Aston Villa's transfer list and is undertaking extra training in order to be fit for their next game, at Barnsley a week today.

Port Vale have signed a fourth Dutch player, the Alkmaar centre-back Mark Snijders, on a free transfer a month after being quoted pounds 150,000 for him.

Arsenal kick off the defence of their Women's National League Premier Division title tomorrow with a new manager: the former Leyton Orient and Wycombe midfielder Terry Howard. He has replaced Vic Akers, now the mens' teams kit man at Highbury.
