The Irish St Leger winner, Oscar Schindler, will attempt to continue his winning sequence in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp a week on Sunday. Kevin Prendergast, his trainer, announced yesterday that the colt may also tilt at the Melbourne Cup on 5 November.
"There is a good span between the races of about a month," Prendergast said. "The horse couldn't be better after the St Leger. He won very well and he still seems to be improving. He will be coming back down in trip in the Arc but he has a great cruising speed."
Oscar Schindler, who also won the Ormonde and Hardwicke Stakes, is quoted at 20-1 for the Arc by William Hill and at 14-1 for the Melbourne Cup.
