Munich prosecutors are to press charges against two officials over the death of Austria's Ulrike Maier in a World Cup downhill in Germany in January 1994. The International Skiing Federation race directors, Kurt Hoch of Austria and Jan Tischhauser of Switzerland, are accused of negligent killing by failing to observe safety regulations in placing a timing post at the place where Maier crashed.

The World Cup women's giant slalom and slalom races at Lake Louis, Alberta, have been postponed because of heavy snowfalls and warm temperatures. The giant slalom has been rescheduled to run tomorrow, with the slalom on Monday.
