Snooker: Fu too strong for Hallett
Marco Fu of Hong Kong continued his winning run through the qualifying rounds of the Embassy World Championship in Blackpool yesterday, beating the experienced Mike Hallett 10-2.
The world amateur and Under-21 champion led 7-2 at the interval and duly collected the three frames he needed to reach the 11th qualifying round and edge nearer a debut in the final stages of the pounds 1.32m tournament.
The 19-year-old Fu, seeking his 43rd consecutive match victory, recorded a break of 126 in the fourth frame and then piled on the agony for Hallett, limiting him to just 76 points in the final six frames.
