RONNIE O'SULLIVAN accused Nigel Gilbert of gamesmanship after his final-frame victory in the Royal Liver Assurance UK Championship at Preston yesterday.
After emerging triumphant from a tense 17th frame which lasted 38 minutes, the former world junior champion said: 'His (Gilbert's) antics were getting on my nerves. He kept rattling his glass and the ice bucket. I just couldn't stop myself from getting wound up.'
O'Sullivan now plays Ireland's Ken Doherty, while the former champion, John Parrott, beat Tony Knowles 9-2 to set up a meeting with David Roe, who defeated Alain Robidoux. Darren Morgan, of Wales, beat his fellow-countryman, Tony Chappel, 9-5.
