Southgate put Teddington in their place

Hockey

Southgate maintained their two-point lead at the top of First Division of the National League with a comprehensive 4-0 win against last season's champions Teddington, writes Bill Colwill. Cannock, who crushed St Albans 7-1, stay in second place with Reading, who beat Hounslow 2-0 on Saturday, in third.

Guildford were in fine form at home with their player/coach, Ian Jennings, playing with a broken thumb he suffered on Friday, scoring their first three and masterminding the 5-2 destruction of Havant.
