Thursday: England's footballers lost to foreign opposition for the first time at Wembley (1953). Hungary won 6-3. In 1990, Australia beat England's cricketers by 10 wickets inside three days.

Saturday: Sammy Chapman became Nottingham Forest's first player to be sent off for 32 years, against Leeds (1971).
