PATTISUE PLUMER, of the United States, who has struggled with a back injury all season, won the women's Mile Hi Mile along the streets of Denver in a time of 4min 57.13sec. Kenya's Steve Kono, recently recovered from an operation to remove a tumour in his calf, won the men's race in 4:02.79.
