STEVE CRAM, the world record-holder for the mile, will begin his move up in distance with a cross-country race against the Kenyan, John Ngugi, in the County Durham International in Durham on 2 January. Cram hopes to run in the 5,000 metres at next year's World Championships in Stuttgart.
