THE sprinter Innocent Asonze has been banned for four years by the International Amateur Athletic Federation which overturned a Nigerian federation decision to clear him after two positive drug tests.

BENSON MASYA of Kenya won the Honolulu marathon for the second year running, in 2hr 14min 19sec, nine seconds in front of compatriot Cosmos Ndeti. David Tsebe of South Africa was third.
