THE odds on a pre-season lock-out have reduced after Richard Ravitch, the major league owners' representative in talks with the players' union over a collective bargaining agreement, said he will recommend his bosses not to lock out the players if negotiations break down. Ravitch hoped the union would decide against strike action.
