PAT BORDERS, the Most Valuable Player in the Toronto Blue Jays' World Series victory, agreed yesterday to a dollars 5m (pounds 3.3m) two-year contract and avoided arbitration. The outfielder David Justice, the 1990 NL Rookie of the Year, also avoided arbitration yesterday when he agreed to a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves worth dollars 1.77m.
