THE major league owners are to discuss expanding the current play-off format at their meeting in March. One proposal is for two teams from each of the four divisions to qualify for the play-offs, instead of one as present, the other that the National and American League each be divided into three divisions with divisional champions advancing alongside a wild-card entrant.
