JOSE CANSECO, the Texas Rangers outfielder, was arrested yesterday after he allegedly struck a man for insulting a woman who was with him. The incident occurred at a club in Chicago. Canseco, who was released on dollars 1,000 (pounds 640) bail, is due to appear in court on 27 January.
