TONY ALLCOCK won his first British Isles outdoor singles title when he ruined the 24th birthday of John Nolan, of Dublin's Blackrock club, by beating him 21-7 at Larne. Allcock was reluctant to take to the green after torrential rain had flooded the complex, but he admitted afterwards that the playing surface was not as heavy as he first feared.
