Sport in Short: Boxing

GERALD McCLELLAN, of the United States, won a championship bout in record time, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, taking just 20 seconds to retain his middleweight world title. McClellan, the World Boxing Council holder, and in his first defence since winning the title in June, knocked out his fellow-American Jay Bell. The previous quickest title knockout on record was held by Britain's Lloyd Honeghan, who beat Gene Hatcher in 40 seconds for the WBC welterweight crown in 1987.
