KIRKLAND LAING, the former European welterweight champion, is set to make a surprise comeback at York Hall, Bethnal Green tonight, four months before his 39th birthday. Laing, who retired in April 1991, will meet the Tanzanian light- middlewight, Bozon Haule, if the Boxing Board of Control's Southern Area Council clear up some outstanding formalities.
