LENNOX LEWIS, the World Boxing Council heavyweight champion, yesterday signed the contract for a mandatory defence against Tony Tucker, the promoter, Dan Duva, said. The fight is expected to be held on 8 May in Las Vegas.

PAT CLINTON has withdrawn from the World Boxing Organisation flyweight title fight against 'Baby' Jake Matlala, of South Africa, in Glasgow next month because of a back injury.
