THE Lennox Lewis-Razor Ruddock world heavyweight title eliminator on 31 October has been finally cleared to take place at the main Earl's Court arena in London. Kensington and Chelsea council officials were initially concerned about 'noise pollution' because the televised fight does not start until 12.50am, which will result in thousands of people flooding local streets in the early hours of a Sunday morning. But a transport system, guaranteed by the promoters, Champion Enterprises, to provide a coach service to car parks has prompted the local council to issue a licence for the show.
THE Mexican featherweight, Manuel Medina, retained his IBF world crown on Wednesday night when the Italian challenger, Fabrizio Cappai, failed to answer the bell for the 11th round of their title fight Capo D'Orlando, Sicily.
