AUSTRALIA opened their five-week tour of Sri Lanka yesterday by scoring 278 for 9 on the first day of their three-day match against a Sri Lanka Board President's XI in Kandy. Mark Waugh and the fast bowler, Craig McDermott, scored 74 and 58 not out respectively to help the tourists recover from 66 for 4.
