CENTURIES by Western Australia's former Test opener Geoff Marsh and Test newcomer Damien Martyn denied Victoria a win in their Sheffield Shield match which finished as a draw in Melbourne yesterday. Marsh, supplanted in the Australian team when selectors preferred Mark Taylor and David Boon to open against West Indies, hit 101. The 21-year- old Martyn was unbeaten on 116 as Western Australia batted out the day to score 337 for 3 after trailing by 140 on the first innings. Victoria, who scored 352 in reply to Western Australia's first innings of 212, took two first-innings points.
