THE Football Association has ordered Middlesbrough to pay Scarborough an extra pounds 20,000 for their goalkeeper Ian Ironside. The Third Division side claimed they were owed the money because Ironside had been selected for 20 games, but Boro argued that some of those selections were as substitute goalkeeper.

BRIAN KILCLINE, the Newcastle United captain, will be out for at least 10 days with hip and back injuries.

GIGI MAIFREDI, the coach of Genoa, has been dismissed following Sunday's 3-2 home defeat by Lazio.

FRANCE'S World Cup qualifying match against Sweden on 28 April may be switched from Paris to Nantes because the Parc des Princes pitch is being relaid.
