SLOVAN BRATISLAVA and Ferencvaros, the two clubs at the centre of a diplomatic row over allegations of Czechoslovak police brutality to Hungarian fans, were both fined by Uefa yesterday. The European ruling body said it accepted intervention by the Slovak security forces during last Wednesday's European Cup tie was necessary, but criticised the fact that some of them were masked. Ferencvaros had complained that police attacked their fans without provocation during the match in Bratislava, which was won 4-1 by Slovan, and demanded that Uefa reverse the result.
LOANS: Scott Houghton and Paul Moran, forwards, Tottenham Hotspur to Cambridge United.
