NIGERIA'S 77 Olympic competitors have each been promised a pounds 5,500 bonus for winning a gold medal in Barcelona by their government, who are keen to improve on a dismal record of one silver and three bronzes in 40 years. The main medal hope is boxer David Dafiagbon, a Commonwealth champion, and Chioma Ajunwa, the African long jump record-holder.
