Sport in Short: Rallying
JUHA KANKKUNEN, the treble world champion from Finland, made up an 81 second deficit to take the lead from Andrea Aghini of Italy in the San Remo Rally yesterday. The Lancia driver was fastest in all but one of the eight timed special stages on the second day of the event. His young Italian team-mate, who led the rally overnight, spun in the final mile of the penultimate special stage, which cost him 18 seconds. Kankkunen takes a two-second lead in to the final day today.
