ALAIN GAUTIER, of France, rounded Cape Horn yesterday and set course for the finishing point at Les Sables d'Olonne on the west coast of France in the Vendee Globe round-the-world race. Gautier, 30, has a lead of around 350 nautical miles over his countryman Philippe Poupon. Only eight of the 14 starters who left Les Sables d'Olonne on 22 November are left in the race.
